max each folder for tyros midi files

Depends on the Tyros.
250 (of any type) for T1.
500 (of any type) for T2, 3, 4, 5.

Not only the quantity of NAMES but also the LENGTH of the Folder/Files are relevant ...

so
DOS Names    will go for 250-500   "Songname.mid"

If you use LONGER Filenames/Foldernames  like
"Beatles-Yellow-Submarine-in-C-removed-bass-louder-guitare.mid"

they will "cost" more than one Place ...
Thatswhy sometimes you canīt put 250/500 on the Folder.

BUT the important thing is NEVER to save MORE than 60-70 Files/Folders in one FOLDER so you can get your "Target" with 3 Clicks.

If you use a CLEVER Filesystem with max 60-70 per Folder you can choose a Song/Reg/Style out of 10.000 with 4-5 Klicks ... if you just fill your System usage is SLOW and you need more than 20 Klicks (using the next button on the display :-(   )

I often see Keyboarder tapping more than 4-5 times for a Reg/Song ... that isnīt clever!

From the PSR FAQ:

C.45. What is the maximum number of characters allowed in a midi song name ?

Anything over 42 will not show the display.
