Thanks Artur for the info....I must check the Yamaha site more often.
I've just had a play with this new version 1.05, and some members that had the occasional A-E/F-J button issue may be wondering if this version helps at all, as indeed was I.
Well after giving it a test, I can definitely say it's not made the issue worse, which is always good. I deliberately pressed the buttons dead centre with the odd press between centre and low spot, and managed 35 voice changes before it exited me back to the main screen just the once, but I'll put that 1 exit down to maybe the way I pressed it.
One things for sure if I press the buttons like I normally do which is slightly biased centre to the high-spot it worked every single time perfectly. It may be the placebo effect,
but I am thinking it seems noticably better...but time will tell.
I'll pop round my neighbours later, and update his 770 firmware, as his 770 suffers this exiting back to the main screen very badly indeed, so if there are any improvements in this 1.05 it will show up much more on his 770.
EDIT.
I've installed this 1.05 on my neighbours 770 on which previously we were lucky to select 3 or 4 voices before exiting, as it suffered badly with this button issue. Well, I'm not sure whether it was the effect of simply installing the firmware or not, but I can say on 1.05 it did not 100% cure his, but it certainly made a positive difference, as we could manage 30 to 40 presses before it exited back to the main screen, so a big improvement IMO, his now is about how mine used to be, with just the occasional exit. So I'm initially optimistic this 1.05 will hopefully help people that experience this odd button behaviour.
So a big thanks to Yamaha for listening to us, and a huge thanks to Joe.H in his continued efforts in pushing the message home.
Early days, but I suspect Yamaha may have reduced the issue to a more tolerable level on those badly afflicted and maybe eradicated it altogether on those mildly affected...fingers xxx anyway.
Just noticed as I was editing this post that my neighbour must be happy as he's ringing the local church bells...lol, TRUE.. he said he had to go to bell ringing practice at 8pm. I just had to add that when I heard the bells ringing..they probably sound better than his playing...lol...sorry Alan.
