That's what I mean Joe, I've seen LCD screens which to me seemed a little too bright, though everyone will have their own preference how bright they like their displays to be, the same with tablets or mobile phones, but they of course have settings for brightness. for the sake of pennies I can never understand why they omit to include some adjustment on our keyboards too. That way users can set it to whatever they prefer. However it does seem to be the norm on the majority of keyboard instruments not to give the user that option, and it's not just Yamaha, but many others too IME.
After-all you wouldn't buy a TV or computer Monitor without those basic controls being available, and in reality that's all the Keyboard display is... a small simple monitor, IOW just because the guy in the factory likes his screens to be bright, or even a little on dark side doesn't mean the customer will, as it depends on the rooms ambient lighting too, whereas for a few pence some setting could have been added, so everyone's happy. It's probably me just being picky...lol
