Converting Styles from 4/4 to 6/8 shuffle
« on: February 01, 2019, 05:42:07 PM »
I had posted this before and was looking for it (to remind myself how I did it) and then saw the "slimmed down" note, bummer.

I remembered so thought I'd document again.  If you want to convert your 4/4 styles to 6/8 shuffle do the following:

1. Select your style
2. Go to Style Creator
3. Go to Groove Tab
4. Under "Original Beat" choose 16Beat.
5. Under "Beat Converter" choose 12Beat
6. Pick a variation (A,B,C, or D) under Style Control (where you normally change variations while playing)
7. In the PopUp that says "Section) scroll up to "All" and click Ok
8. Select Execute and then save your file (to a new name)

Thx,

Thanks for this tip.
I have a question you might know the answer to
Why when I try to change style rythem from 4/4 to anything else withing the basic screen the Genos forces me to initialize and basically erase the entire style?

I think style creator just doesn't know how to fill in the notes if you use that method.  Sorry I don't have more of an answer but that's the way it works.

I'm changing these instructions slightly.  I found I have better success when using 24 in step 5 instead of 12.

1. Select your style
2. Go to Style Creator
3. Go to Groove Tab
4. Under "Original Beat" choose 16Beat.
5. Under "Beat Converter" choose 24Beat
6. Pick a variation (A,B,C, or D) under Style Control (where you normally change variations while playing)
7. In the PopUp that says "Section) scroll up to "All" and click Ok
8. Select Execute and then save your file (to a new name)

A slight tweak. I realized sometimes 12 beat gives different results than 24 beat so best to try both.
