Factory reset question
« on: December 28, 2018, 06:39:03 PM »
Hi All,
Hope you all had a great Christmas.
Went to use my Tyros 4 today after 8 days storing in the garage(The weather has been a bit chilly recently), The keyboard was making some strange noises whilst using the styles and when I played chords on the Right hand it made some horrible noises as well. Also when altering the tempo buttons The tempo wouldn't always read on screen. If I did a factory reset, Would I lose all my user voices, Rhythms and personal settings? Thought I would ask first before  doing the reset.
Many thanks
John

Quite possible you could have a bit of moisture inside your Tyros after being in the garage. If it was me, l would leave it in a warm room for a couple of days, then switch it on and leave it for a few hours, before trying it.

Yes, a real FACTORY reset deletes everything and brings the keyboard back to the status when it came out of the box. Unless something is broken of course. That's why it is called factory reset.
A soft reset however keeps your stuff. Usually power up while pressing the highest key.

Save all you user settings to a USB before doing a factory re-set and then you can load them back in. Not a good idea to keep keyboard in a damp cold place at any time though.
