T5 styles to Genos
« on: September 20, 2018, 08:37:35 PM »
Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked and hopefully it's a short answer.
I looked everywhere for a file with the T5 styles which can be loaded to Genos (all but the audio styles).

Is there such a file anywhere?

Thanks

Hi Yinon,

unfortunately, that Yamaha download file does NOT contain ALL (499) Tyros5 (MIDI based) Styles.

You can download ALL Tyros5 Styles (except the +Audio Styles) as zip archives from this Psrtutorial site (by clickin on the Category names):

https://www.psrtutorial.com/sty/yamaha/Tyros5/tyros_5.html

The 40 Tyros5 +Audio Styles you can download as eight ( 8 ) .ppf Packs (to import into YEM) from Genos download site (see link above).

BUT you do NOT need to INSTALL those Packs on Genos! The +Audio Styles also play from USB, or you can copy the Styles to User drive.

You can extract the Styles from YEM by using the PC program "YEM Content Explorer" (YEMCE), last Version 1.0.2, you can download here:

http://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,43547.msg344073.html#msg344073

You will get 40 .aus Styles, which you can copy to a USB stick then. Since you no longer need the Audio Style Packs in the YEM, you can DELETE it now, if desired.

P.S.
Styles can also be directly extracted from .ppf files (without importing into YEM first), by using the PC program "StyleExtractor", programmed by "jexino":

http://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,45395.msg356986.html#msg356986

BUT: I found that this program (Version 1.0.0.4) does NOT extract ALL the +Audio Styles properly. In my test with the 8 Audio Style Bonus Packs it extracts only
32 of the 40 .aus Styles.

(I don't know, if there is an updated Version of "StyleExtractor", meanwhile.)

Best regards,
Chris

All,

Today I loaded few of the older styles (T5)  into Genos and I'm very happy I did.
If you are an experienced T5 user, do not think Genos factory files are covering T5.

In fact, to my personal taste, the T5 styles are much more generic and allow you to chose a song rather than styles dedicated to specific songs.
In few cases, Genos has factory style with the same name as the T5.
In most cases, they vary. (Similar but I feel that Genos is a little on the "softer" side with less punch and power).

My 2 cents - Load them,  try them

Enjoy! 8)
