Hello :) Try to play the files on your computer first, to be sure they sound OK. Also check the bit rate.

To see if the problem is with your Genos or the files that you are trying to play, download the song in the following link which was uploaded to the PSR Tutorial main site by Pedro Eleuterio.  This should definitely play fine on your keyboard.

https://psrtutorial.com/perf/Pedro_files/Lady%20In%20Red-PEG1.mp3

To download it (if you are using MS Windows), right click on the link with your mouse and select 'Save link as...'

Transfer it to a USB stick and try it on your Genos.  If this plays back with the same problems then the fault is likely to be with the keyboard.

Thanks tyrosaurus tried playing that file it was ok no problem, but then I loaded a cd+g file and it started to play ok then speeded up then slowed down again and made a interference noise then came back on ok , so it’s faulty playing just the cd+g files

What version of the OS (firmware) is installed on your Genos?

The latest version is 1.30, and amongst the many 'bug fixes' that Yamaha actually admit to  ::) in this version are:

-Improved the operability when showing lyrics of the "MP3+G" type on the Lyrics display.
-Fixed a problem in which certain MP3 files would not playback properly.

So if your Genos has firmware version 1.20 or lower, your problem might be fixed by installing the latest version (1.30).   :-\

You can check what firmware version is currently installed by pressing/touching...

[MENU] > [Utility] > [System].    The firmware version is supposed to be shown at the top of the display.

If the currently installed version is not 1.30, you can download this version from the following link...
