Volume of one voice to low
« on: June 21, 2018, 02:35:26 AM »
I used programs from Michael en Jorgen to bring 1 voice in a style to a maximum (127) but it is still to low. How do I bring this voice to a higher level? Anyone?
I thought I did that before but totally forgotten how.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Dick,

The voice you want raised, is it in the OTS settings or one of the voices in the style's Main Parts?

It is in the main part of a (custom) style. Bringing the volume up to 127 on the keyboard and in other programs just isn't enough. If it was in OTS I could do it but not in the style itself.
Thanks for replying Drake!

Well post the style and tell if it is the bass, Pad, Phr1 or2 or which one needs fixed.

Not sure what the problem is or if i can fix it .. but I'll take a look at it.

Dick,

Volume has 2 components - 1 is the volume and 2 is the expression, the last has to set on value 127. Did you check this?

Thanks for your kind offer Drake but I found another a bit louder voice and replaced it. It is the solo-trumpet in PHR2 in the style 'Il Silenzio'.

Piet, thanks for the reply but where do I find 'expression' on the PSR S950? Problem is solved anyway but I would like to know.

Dick,

Don't think you can find it on your KB but MixMaster can.

See attached picture.

How about turn all the other style parts down a bit, then increase the master volume? (All the way up to 11 if you need to)

Dick,

I've remixed many styles to date and I find that if the volume is too low or too high on one style part only but fine on the other parts, I use StyleMagic to adjust the note velocity.  It could be that the part you are talking about was recorded with a certain Voice and if it was changed to a different Voice... that could be the problem.
