Noisy keybed?
« on: May 25, 2018, 05:16:45 AM »
The 950 and 970 have a plastic-like  keybed that sounds clickety clack, very annoying. Is it more Tyros and Geno's quality over the 975`s keys or is it still clickety clack? I tested Korg pa 1000 and the keybed was Plastick-like also, but still very smooth and quiet..

Hi Ingar! I have an S970 and can confirm the clickety-ckack! It took some getting used to. All the keyboards have plastic keys, but some have better keybeds. Hvven't tried the S975, but the Genos had a very good feel to the keys.

I contend that if you are hearing a clickty-clack sound when playing, you are probably striking the keys way too hard. My S-950, which has the same keybed, does not make that sound when I play, but I have a friend that came over and played it and stopped him from playing, fearing he was going to destroy the keypads.

All the best,

I had 950 and later 970 and on both of them  I tapet a string  Velcro Tape under the keybed and that was like night and day for me. The keys got a little shorter way down, but were quiet and comfortable playing on. Styles and voices were just the same.
Best Regards Ingar

I think it is easy to be heated up and eager during playing...then it is natural to use some force.
