Hi Oz,
Plugable USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI display adapter comes with the USB 2.0 display adapter itself (left), which already has the DVI connector built-in, 1 DVI-to-VGA adapter (bottom right), and 1 DVI-to-HDMI adapter (top right) as shown below:
There is no special procedure to configure the external monitor of the Genos. Just plug the USB 2.0 plug of the display adapter to the back USB port of Genos, and connect the external monitor to the USB 2.0 display adapter.
Genos will automatically detect the presence of the USB 2.0 display adapter and starts displaying to the external monitor. What you see on the built-in touch screen of the Genos is also displayed on the external monitor. So the external display is actually the screen duplication of the built-in touch screen.
P.83 of the Yamaha Genos owner's manual version D mentions how to display lyrics / notation with proper MIDI files:
https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/7/1130977/genos_en_om_d0.pdfPlease note that when playing MIDI files, the jumping red dot works on the built-in touch screen, but does not work on the external monitor. Yamaha has not addressed this issue on firmware 1.20 yet.
Thanks,
Paul
