Video Tutorial: How the Filter Envelopes works in YEM
Styles2psr:
Hello friends,
I have made 2 new videos showing how the different filters (Cutoff Filter and the Filter Envelope) in YEM works and how they can effect the sound.
If you're familiar with the Filter Envelopes then you know that you can shape 1 sound into 5-6 different voices by using the same sound.
In the first video i show how all the different filters works.
The second video is more about how i create the famous Lately Bass by using 1 simple Saw wave sample from Sylenth1.
This bass was very often used in the 90's Euro Dance Music.
You probably recognize the bass from various songs with artists like Whigfield, Dr Alban, Snap, Ace of Base, Snap, Culture Beat.
I have seen members here complaining about why Yamaha doesn't release a proper update for YEM.
YEM is a very powerful tool when you know what you're doing.. so do not underestimate it.

I hope you will find the Tutorials useful, if not...at least i share my knowledge with you people.
Have a nice day everyone.
Regards, Jan.

KeyboardByBiggs:
When you're making adjustments and hearing the changes in realtime, is that because you are connected to the keyboard, or have you pulled a sample from the keyboard onto your computer?
DerekA:
YEM really is a pretty decent subtractive synthsis engine. I wonder if they will at some point put this functionality straight onboard - with Genos' touchscreen, it shouldn't be that hard. Imagine how much more powerful and compelling that would make it ...

Thank you very much Jan. Greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
