Multipads keep going after registration step forward
Tonny:
I have a registration bank for a song with a number of registrations in it for intro, verse, etc. And I use the registration sequence to forward through the registrations while playing. Each registration has a different multipad stored in it. When I step forward in the registration sequence, the new multipad starts (which is good) but the multipad from the previous step does not stop ! So then I have 2 separate multipads playing, which was not what I wanted.
How do I make the "old" multipad stop when I switch to the next step in my registration bank? I already looked at the Freeze function, but that was correctly already switched off. Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks in advance ! Tonny
EileenL:
You have to switch it off by hand.Hold down the Stop button and press the one you want to stop.

Hi Tonny
Unfortunatly Yamaha refuses to implement a SYNC STOP MULTIPAD function to be stored in a registration. This has been requested since the Tyros 3, when the SYNC START was implemented for Multi-Pads. Though it is obvious that this would be very useful, Yamaha does not listen (again).
Clearly, switching by hand is not a valid option in your case. There's a little trick to achieve what you after. To stop a Multi-Pad by registration, it must load a new Multi-Pad bank, that contains a one-shot Multi-Pad with a single note having velocity = 0 (not sounding). You may download this StopPad:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cad2jrnu543vngp/StopPad.zip?dl=0
which may be used to stop any of the four Multi-Pads. If you want to stop one and start another, just assemble the Multi-Pads as needed, e.g.
Multi-Pad bank A: Sync Start Multi-Pad 1 (your first loop); this is stored in Reg1
Multi-Pad bank B: Sync Start Multi-Pad 1 (containing a copy of the StopPad) , Sync Start Multipad 2 (your second loop); this is stored in Reg2
Hope you get the idea, just ask, if it is not clear.

First, this is a feature, not a bug. There are lots of times I want a pad to continue through a registration change.
The easy solution to your problem is to use the same pad (eg, mp1) for both registrations. Then the old pad will stop, and the new pad will start.
If this is not feasible in your situation for whatever reason, then you do what Dromeus suggests — load a pad which does nothing. You can create your own easily, or downloads one of the many pads others have created.
