Connecting electric guitar to Genos
« on: February 06, 2018, 04:07:18 PM »
Hi ,
Does anyone out there know whether it’s possible to use the effects on the Genos with a plugged in  electric guitar like I used to do with the Tyros 5? Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Alf

You certainly can, here what I do :-

1. From menu, select Mike settings and turn off noise gate.
The pitch settings I need to look into how these affect the sound, leave as default for now.

2. Guitar plugged into mike socket:-
Select Mixer Panel from menu or assignable button
Go to panel 2 on mixer panel and select effect.
Go to Assign part setting RHS of screen
Go to insertion  effect 20 on screen 3 (the only effect available for mic setting) and set to mic
Close screen and back to mixer screen.

There will be an effect selected which can be changed if you press the existing effect on the touch screen.

    Away you go.

Cheers Terry

Hi Alf and Terry

This is a question I have also wandered about, this is something that was often mentioned when the T5 was released but I have not heard any mention of it for Genos.I used to experiment a bit with this when I had my T5 but have not dared to since owning my Genos,so it will be interesting to have a trial with the Genos.

Many thanks to Terry for the info how to set it up and also to Alf for the intial post
