There is a way to do it from your PC.

Download the free Bome SX MIDI utility:  https://www.bome.com/products/sendsx

Set the MIDI out to your keyboard then write the following sysex strings in the MIDI Out field. (you can just copy the strings from here).

Line1:  F0 43 73 01 51 09 00 00 00 F7
Line2:  F0 43 73 01 51 09 00 02 01 04 F7

The attached screen shot is from my S970 and was done as described above.

Hi Joe,

Does this screenshot method also work for PSR-S670? I tried this and nothing was in my USB flash drive.
I connected USB flash drive to S670, then turned on the keyboard. Next I opened the SendSX, set S670 as MIDI OUT. I sent your mention sysex strings
"F0 43 73 01 51 09 00 00 00 F7
F0 43 73 01 09 00 02 01 04 F7"
and pressed sent. Only to get
 "98 54 7F
98 54 00"
in MIDI IN and nothing in my USB flash drive.

Hi Joe,

As I searched and read all the related topics about screenshot, I solved this problem.
Here is how I successfully done the screen capture on PSR-S670:
1) download and install SendSX;
2) connect S670 with cable to computer, and connect USB flash drive to S670
3) open SendSX, set MIDI IN/OUT to S670;
4) in the MIDI OUT field, the following is the correct info should be typed:
F0 43 73 01 51 09 00 00 00 F7
F0 43 73 01 51 09 00 02 01 04 F7

5) press send and you can hear treebell rings, capture complete. Connect USB flash drive to computer and you will find CAPT000.BMP etc.

So I think the sysex you provide here might not be right. The above sysex I used is found in your post here:http://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,23546.0.html

Thanks Alvin for finding my error.  I made a typo and forgot to include the byte of 51 in the second string.  I'm glad you found this error.  I'm glad it works for you.  I have corrected my post above.

I am also very glad to learn how to do this from your posts, Joe. Thanks for sharing!
The SendSX is also very handy as the bottons on S670 does not work as S970. So I guess using software might be the only way on S670.....

Attached is an example of my capture from S670. Originally the capture is in black and white and I colored it in Photoshop :)

Best regards,
Alvin

Hi Roy,

Have you tried what Joe provides here in #2 reply word document?  See the link: http://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,23546.0.html

In the word doc, I saw several different strings. Perhaps the one for USB flash drive does not work for your PSR-3000?

The second string data byte just before the F7 (04) represents the USB1 drive. (Smart Card = 03) You might try change the value of this byte for the Smart Card.

Hi Roy,

Glad to know you finally did it.
I know what you feel especially when hope doesn't die and you have tried everything but still nothing. I was there before.
Anyway it would be a relief when you finally get what you want.

I need the screenshots to write some instructions on how to use this keyboard. This will save me a lot of time than taking photos.
For the B&W part, I believe S670 does not support colored screenshots while PSR-3000 does. But this will not be a big deal for me. I have recorded an auto-run in Photoshop to turn all the screenshots in a folder into colored ones. Just a few seconds all will be done. ;D

Roy,

Thanks for your efforts.  You may have helped others by going through this exercise and confirming it works on the PSR3000 with a Smart Card.  And we don't have convert the .bmp to a .jpg anymore. Roger added the .bmp file to the list of file types we can upload here.
