Hi,
I have both
* The Yamaha MFC10 (got a used one for 112€)
* The Behringer FCB1010 (got a new one from Amazon for 97€)
I did a comparison and found, the the FCB1010 is superior in all points:
* The FCB1010 costs much less than the MFC10
* The FCB1010 has a solid metal case
* The FCB1010 has an internal power supply, using standard cable. No need for external power supply.
* The FCB1010 has 10 switches and 2 expression pedals, the MFC10 has only one expression pedal.
* The FCB1010 switches work more smoothly than those from the MFC10.
* The FCB1010 works perfect to substitute a MFC10. It works exactly the same as the MFC10 in combination with Tyros or Genos.
* The MFC10 can send Yamaha specific Sysex command to call style variation. But this is not needed. The Genos offers all functions in the external midi control menu without needing sysex communication.
Only one points speaks for the MFC10:
* The MFC10 has inputs for 4 external expression pedals and a wind controller which the FCB1010 does not offer.
So I leave the MFC10 in the rehearsal room and use the FCB1010 at home. The setup works 100% identical. Find a picture here:
