900. 910. 950. 970. 975?

I know there are lots of other numbers but -

How does Yamaha decide on the model number ?

970, now 975? Does it mean an in-between model?

As SeaGtGruff mentioned on another thread, I think that this model, numerically, only changed by such a small amount (from 770/970 to 775/975) due to it just being kind of an update, as opposed to a whole new model.  From what I read here, it doesn't seem like there will be any major changes to these models.  The next major update may very well have the 790/990 designations, or maybe even something entirely different.

This model seems to favour more the Asian market as the new S button I think contains quite a few ethnic styles.
I don't think we will see a full replacement for a couple of years.

Yes Eileen, I think you are right,

I have 3 Yamaha keyboards, I love the styles.

I really would love a Yamaha Keyboard, 61 and no more than 10 kilos with a touch screen

Looks like I will have to wait 2 more years,

I am gigging at the moment with 6,5 kilo setup. With touch screen and a really good sound through 2 Maui 5s but I do miss the Yamaha styles,

The "pluS" button contains the Euro Dance and Salsa expansion.

I guess, 975/775 would mean, that it is an improved 970/770. Like Technics did with the KN 6500.
