GENOS Drum setup
« on: December 21, 2017, 10:08:10 AM »

On drum setup editing I am really missing external samples.

On S-series and A-3000 we can chose and edit INTERNAL/EXTERNAL samples and that is working great.
So now on Genos we can edit and chose only INTERNAL.

I know we can use in YEM wen making custom drums but way on PSR-SERIES is much better.Simple we can start style and change part and listen.

So I am really beg Yamaha to fix this in next OS update.

Thank you

I was going to write a topic about this and I read your post. Unintentionally Yamaha deliberately restricts access to Drum Extensions for what purpose.
DrumSetup on the S970 I easily mix Drums stock sets with Expansion and make diversified sets of styles.
Hopefully Yamaha will change this in the next update.

Could it be related to the fact, that Expansion Voices have the own tone generator?
On the other hand, "Drum setup" is creating a new drum kit that is stored with the style, so I think, you have to modify the Expansion drum kit in the manager software.

You can NOT modify Protected packs in YEM.

In drum editor you can use protected drums and edit them.

I think he (1-man-band-berlin) has not used Drum Setup on the S970 yet. It was such a great feature that when it release, I thought I was willing to pay $ 1000 for someone who could bring it to Tyros 5's firmware.
If he did, he would not answer that

Sorry, you think wrong. It is really a new drum kit in the style, I tested it via MIDI cable.
Also in this test I noticed, that nothing of the note messages is changed.
It is a variation of the drum setup function, found in Tyros 4, but there you has to store the kit as custom voice instead.
Well, I never tried it with expansion kits.

:) I'm very curious, how did you tried Drum Setup though Midi Cable?! :)
Drum Setup only add SysEx to style's SInt part, so what note differences to add Drum Setup?!...
Read more about Drum Setup ;)
