SONAR as editor
« on: November 13, 2017, 08:15:24 PM »
Hello !  This is my very first post to this forum.  I own a PSR 950 and it's a great keyboard.  I'm having issues when editing with Sonar Platinum.  Whenever I connect via midi device, the PSR keys shut down.  I can continue to edit from Sonar but I cannot play the keyboard unless I reboot.

Hi,

Did you install Sonar well in your pc ?
Did you install the S950 Yamaha midi driver ?
Did you assign this driver in Sonar ?
Did you install the S950 instrument ini in Sonar ?

Good luck, Jeff

From the PSR FAQ http://psrtutorial.com/lessons/faq/PSRFAQ.htm

H.41.  New! How to restore operation after exiting Sonar

In Sonar, under Options/ Global/ there is the item "Unload Synth on Disconnect".

Removing the check-mark  seems to eliminate the problem when Cakewalk is closed.

Hello Jeff.
Thank you for your answers.  Please find that I have done all your questions.  I used to own a PSR 3000 and was experiencing a similar behavior

Hello Michael.

Thank you for taking the time to answer.  What you are suggesting is interesting but I cannot locate the GLOBAL within Options and do no see 'Unload Synth on Disconnect'.  My Options section is on the track page.  Am I missing something?

Blue max

I found this in the PsrFaq. I did not create it, but it is not the first time such behavior has been reported.

I am sorry, but I do not have additional information.

Hi Bluemax,

Take a look here: http://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php?topic=25647.0 (grandms's advice at the bottom). It seems that you need to edit the TTSSEQ.INI file. Hope it helps.
