76 key PSR?
« on: October 01, 2017, 12:44:25 PM »
Happy with my 670 except I really want a 76 key version (or 76 key 950-70 etc) so I wouldn't have to keep 2 KBs (a P255 is my 88key DP).  Do you think there is any hope for one and if so when?

PS:  The T5-76 is nice but very heavy, requires ext spkrs, and vy costly, all deal breakers for me.

There is no 76 key PSR version available today. And I doubt there ever will be.

I think Yamaha have to decided to standardize with:
CVP = 88 keys
Genos = 76 keys
PSR = 61 keys

But as always, only Yamaha knows for sure.

That is not entirely true, as there is now the PSR-EW300 and PSR-EW400, both of which have 76 keys.  Granted, they are not as advanced as the PSR-S series keyboards, but the EW400 still has quite a few features, such as over 700 sounds, 6-track sequencer, live-control knobs, synth features (filter and envelope generator), about 200 styles, arpeggiator, DSP effects, and USB connectivity.

I think Fred is right.

I might be wrong, but the psr-instrument should support up to  88-keys midi controller.
