PSR9000 is quite a few years old.  I doubt if many of us still have one.  I remember it was very heavy!

I looked up the weight of the  keyboard .... 22.5Kg (49 lbs. 10 oz)

I have a pair of speakers that are intended for use in a vehicle, have a woofer and tweeter similar to what looks like the PSR9000 has and are housed in molded plastic case. The combined weight for the two with the case is approximately 2.7Kg (6lbs). I'm guessing the two plastic cases may be about 0.68Kg (1.5lbs) total together, so the set of speakers minus the case might be about 2.0Kg (4.5lbs) and that estimate may be on the high side. Is it worth tearing down the keyboard to remove the speakers and possibly only save 4 lbs?

Electrovoice, its not just the speakers that make the 9000 heavy but boxes they are in you could take the actual speakers out but not the boxes as these have parts of the 9000 attatched to them including some screw holes for the bottom cover the actual speakers are not that heavy dont know the exact weight but removing them would not make much difference .

I have tried to remove the speakers, but those are part of the main construction. The power unit and main ampifier are resting on the speakers. So, I have placed them back on the system. I think a speaker weights about 4 KG.

Yesterday i do this operation. I remove not only the speakers but also the amplifier.
According my technician the amplifier is way more heave than both speakers!

So now my PSR-9000 weight 13.8 kg
The original weight with speakers and amplifier is 22.5 kg (according the manual)
So the whole set (2 speakers and amplifier) weight 8.7 kg
