Thanks for the download but, when I went to open the download a warning window appeared asking me if I was sure I wanted to change my Internet settings!

Not wanting to change my settings and not knowing why an instrument definition file should want to do such a thing,I closed the file without installing it.

Can someone please inform me as to what I should safely do in order to keep my settings and also use the ins file with my 910 and Sonar?

John.

To install an ins file:

Open Cakewalk.
Click Tools/Instruments (Options/Instruments in Sonar 3), then depress the Define button.
Click the Import button, then go to the folder where the ins file is stored, and select it. Click Open
In the "Pick One or more Instrument.." screen, click the ins file (select it). Click OK ( This is where most people go wrong)
Click Close and Close again to get back to track view.

With instrument definitions installed, click on Tools/Instruments, select all channels in the left hand box and then click the name of your instrument in the right box, and then OK.

Regards,

Michael

Hi

Thanks for the download but, when I went to open the download a warning window appeared asking me if I was sure I wanted to change my Internet settings!
...

Files with the ins extension is in Windows associated to some Internet settings software.

If you want to look inside or edit an ins (instrument definitions) file, then open it using NotePad. This type of ins files are plain text files.
