I have found a midi-file (Crazy in Patsy Cline style). I have sheet Music for this song. However the midi-file is in the wrong key.
I have loaded the midi-file and found on the display a button where I can change the key. The dots on the screen Changes but
the sound is exactly the same. What am I missing?
Grateful for all help. I would really looking forward to play with a midi-file. This is new to me

Can you please locate where exactly that button is.
And in which Menu.
-
After I have selected the song it comes up on the display and I can even see the sheet Music in the display. In the bottom of the display there is a button where I can change the key.
Maybe I am at the wrong Place to this. I don't know what to do
-
Go to Mixing Console, ( Mixer / EQ)
Location on the Left side of the Display.
Use the Tab button
Go to the Tune Page.
Transpose Song - / +
It should solve your Problem
-
If I succeed with this can I save it as a new midi-file then?
-
Sure you can.
Just remember to Re Name it.
To avoid overwriting the song.
-
If you want to change key on a midi file you must make sure the transpose is set to song on your keyboard. You can not save it back to the song unless you go into song creator and transpose each track to the amount required making sure you do NOT transpose the drum track. Then you can re-save it.

Thank you Eileen. I actually don't know if I am capable of doing all that. I am not a computer genie
-
Where would i set the transpose to song?
Thanks

Where would i set the transpose to song?
Thanks
Mixing Console.

Where would i set the transpose to song?
It depends on the specific keyboard, but it will be in the Utility menu.
Look for Transpose Assign, where you can choose Master, Song, Keyboard.
Master will transpose both the midi and the keyboard.
Song will transpose only the midi
Keyboard will transpose only the keyboard.
Cheers,
Fred

One of the greatest features on Yamaha arranger keyboards is the Direct Access key. Just hold down the direct access button, then press the transpose button and you will immediately be take to the page to do the job. It's that easy.

Indeed, one of the best but less known features of Yamaha keyboards.By the way, you don't need to hold down the DA key. Just press it once, and then press another key.
