Hello, People.
I'm looking for a great Genos case/bag/hard case to transport my Genos with safety. I'm looking dealers in USA.
Anyone can help me to choose a good one? Preference with wheels...
I do like the oficial Yamaha SCC Keyboardbag, but I could not find a dealer in USA with that bag:
https://www.thomann.de/gb/yamaha_scc_genos_keyboardbag.htm
Regards,
Pedro

Here's the one I got:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GTSA76Deep
-
Thanks...
Are you liking?
I saw there are two models, normal and deep. Yours is Deep, right? Fits Genos well?
Regards,
Pedro

Fits very nicely. I added a little extra foam just for security and my peace of mind. :)
Has rollerblade wheels on one end for easy pushing or dragging.

I am happy with my Gator G-PG-76

personally, I dont reckon theres a better one than the. Yamaha 'official' one (as sold by Thomann and others)
http://m.musik-produktiv.co.uk/item/3130313032323437
Has a detachable bag for the bits and pieces, and a protector for music rest.
But it's expensive. Must be in USA, somewhere , surely?

Haven't found it anywhere in USA. The German and UK shops say they won't ship to USA either.
-
I can too recommend Gator, especially the semi-rigid cases with wheels. Have had them for all of my Yammie keyboards.
-
I'm looking exactly for this one. But in USA I could not find... And the European dealers don't send to USA or Brazil either...
If anyone find a dealear for the oficial yamaha Genos bag, please tell us...
Thanks.

Hi Pedro ..
What about Amazon? Thomann sell on there, or maybe you could ask Frank from Musikcity, who uses this forum?!
In UK, these bags are about £220! Expensive, but look really good, material great and have extra carry pockets.
The other company I KNOW sell these that I used before are DV247
https://www.musicstore.de/en_GB/GBP/Yamaha-SCC-Genos-Bag/art-KEY0004713-000
You could ask them if they send to your country!
I'll ask Frank, and see if he can help!

Hi --
How much does the Yamaha SCC-Genos weigh? None of the on-line sites state the weight in the specs.
Weight is a very important decision point for many people. ;)
Thanks -- pj
-
SCC?
You mean the keyboard? .. or the Bag? The bag must weigh a few kilo. I think I saw it on a site here, I'll look around for you.
Al.
-
INCLUDING packaging, weight is 4.8Kg (maybe about 4.5Kg empty then)
Boxed dimensions: 900 x 600 x 200mm

Thanks, Al!
Sorry about the ambiguity vis a vis "SCC-Genos". This seems to be the product code used on the Web.
Even 4.8kg is desirable versus adding another 24+ pounds of hard case to Genos. In my case, I mainly need to keep the rain off and have a few wheels for rolling.
Take care -- pj

I'm ordering mine soon.
Sure looks good, and I like idea of the detachable bag and separate covers.
I expect to get mine from Musicstore or Thomann.
Al. 👍😊
-
I did return the Yamaha SCC-Genos.
Too expensive
Bad protection.
Two covers i did not need.
Nice for Ipad but not for the lectern.
Soundwear Stagebag Genos
https://www.thomann.de/nl/soundwear_stagebag_genos.htm?ref=search_rslt_genos_425787_3
much sheaper same protection.
I think I will go for the Thon Keyboard-Case Genos PVC
https://www.thomann.de/nl/thon_keyboard_case_genos_pvc.htm?ref=search_rslt_genos_425624_1
Good protection.
Fits on my cars back seat.
-
Thanks Wim ..
I did look at that bag on Thomann!
Hard cases not for me.
There is probably not a 'best' case for everyone. subjective!

The Yamaha SCC-Genos. has dropped in price in Holland from 299 to 259 euro

How about this one.

I like this one because it is soft and weights much less than the hard one. I do not travel by plane so do not need the hard case.
Wish it could be found in the USA. Yes, i know they can ship from Europe to USA but the shipping cost . . . . .
thanks for the info

Pedro,
I’m also looking in the USA, so far I’ve only found two that will fit:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GTSA76Deep
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GK76
It also looks like this case might fit..interior width is the issue.

You guys over there should ask their dealers WHY they, or no-one else are importing the quality Thomann or Yamaha carry bags!

Hello,
I liked the photos (in the topic) and I went for the Gator G-PG-76 - directly from Frank at Audioworks.
Wainting for it!
Thank you !!
Pedro
-
Pedro,
does it have wheels . .. . ? i did not see Genos on the list for this model, does it fit Genos ?
thanks in advance.
-
No problem. The Gator G-pg-76 interior dimensions are optimal.
You can see it on my pictures with my Genos.
G-PG-76 Interior dimensions (W x D x H): 1270 x 457 x 165 mm
Genos dimensions: 1234 x 456 x 138 mm
G-PG-76 Weight: 4.45 kg

No Wheels I’m thinking.
-
Don't know how the Genos compares to the T5-76 regarding weight and size, but I'm very glad my Gator (88 keys) has wheels :)
-
He does not have a wheel, but he goes all the way to my car. ;D

-
No, it hasn't wheels.
But is ok for me, I'm just 40 now!
The important thing is to protect the keyboard and it has a lot of soft protection...
Thanks,
Pedro

Thanks ckobu. Because of your pictures, I ordered this Gator model!!
I won't flight with my Genos, it is just to carry from my apartment to the car, and the car to the studio/gig location in town.

Pedro

Hi,
I read on the site that the case is 1220 x 470 x 130 mm. And the Genos is 1234 mm...
a mistake ?
I hesitate between two models, this one and the Gator G-PG-76.
-
Thomann site does have a few mistakes in the details.
That Gator bag says at bottom 'suitable for Tyros5-61!
So, if Thomann bag description is correct, will be a tight fit. Personally, I'd rather have a bit extra, as the end corners are vulnerable if dropped!
I see Vali reviewed it on their site, too. He will come back and comment on the 'fit', I'm sure.
I bought the Yamaha SCC bag from Thomann .. they are currently asking me to review it!
This one has over 25mm firm padding around each end.

I purchased this one from Thomman and had it sent all the way to USA because could not find a US distributor.
https://www.thomann.de/gb/soundwear_stagebag_genos.htm?sid=269e4de2b5e6ddd9fa4407a28c8eeeea (https://www.thomann.de/gb/soundwear_stagebag_genos.htm?sid=269e4de2b5e6ddd9fa4407a28c8eeeea)
It fits Genos very well, it has wheels and extra bags for stuff.
I like it.
thanks

Hi Everyone,
I know this is an old thread but rather than opening a new one, I thought it will be better to resurrect this one.
I'm about to order a case for my Genos. (In the US)
Since few months passed since the last message here, I'm wondering if there is anything new in the hard case arena?
Al - How is the Soundwear working out? Is it holding?
Thanks
-
Hello,
Yes, the soundwear is working fine for me. I like it because of the wheels, which make it easy to transport. You do not have to carry it.
Although lately i have been thinking of getting a rolling cart.
So far so good.
thanks
-
I Got the Yamaha one and it is Perfect :) very Happy with it as well
-
Thank you both.
How much did it cost you if I may ask?
How long did the shipping take?
Thanks

Hi Yinon,
The price of Soundwear Stagebag Genos is $151 plus a flat shipping $34, a total of $185:
https://www.thomannmusic.com/soundwear_stagebag_genos.htm?ref=search_prv_14
It usually takes 2 to 3 days for Thomann Music to process your order, then they will ship it through DHL in Germany and export it to the U.S., your item will have to go through U.S. Customs such as the one at Chicago IL, then passed to US Postal Services to deliver to you. It usually takes 2 weeks to get the product to your door, sometimes sooner, sometimes later. I had 2 packages shipped to me at the same time, one arrived 13 days after I ordered it, the other one arrived 23 days after I ordered it (I had to request for search of the 'missing' item before USPS finally shipped me the second package).
Thanks,
Paul
-
The Soundwear is about 130 Euros plus about 30 for shipping. I could not find it anywhere in the USA, so i had to order from Thomann in Europe.
It took like 3 weeks to arrive.
thanks

I have this bag, too, and I'm very happy with it. It's great for Genos and can handle other keyboards. I purchased it from Thomann on-line and had it shipped to the USA.
All the best -- pj

Thanks Paul!
