Title: Styles on a 709
Post by: Acr on January 22, 2018, 08:31:35 AM
Hi all,
As a bit of a novice with the CVP 709, I've been watching a U-Tube video of a 709 demonstration by a Dutch player, Michel Voncken.  He gave a brilliant performance of Tico Tico and although at my level, I will ever be able to play this tune in a million years, I was very impressed with the settings on the 709 during his performance. I've played around with "styles" and "music finder" on my 709 but I don't find anything that matches the style used by Michel during his performance. If anybody has any thoughts on this, I would love to hear from you.
Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

There are two entries for 'Tico Tico' in the CVP-709 Music Finder (assuming that you have downloaded and installed the 'full' version from Yamaha!   Download link from UK site...  https://uk.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/65634_EN.html ).

One uses the style 'OrganSamba' (Organist category) at 124 bpm.

The other uses the style 'PianoSamba' (Pianist category) at 120 bpm.

Regards

Ian

Thanks Ian,

I don't know what I would do without this forum.

Very grateful.

Best regards

Tony
