Title: Chord step entry
Post by: RonW on June 18, 2005, 01:45:19 AM
I have a PSR3000 and am trying to enter chords in the step entry mode.
Referencing page 146 step (4) 'Tab to Chords'.
This results in the following MIDI screen display:

001:1:0000 Style (Cool8Beat)
001:1:0000 Sect M A Main A:2
001:1:0000 Chord C Cancel
001:1:0000 Tempo 100
003:1:0000 End

I proceed to Pg 154 and:

Enter Chords C, F, G. Then the Break Button.
Only the Break Button shows up as an entry in the MIDI list.
The chords do not show up on the MIDI list and only the style background plays back.
Any Ideas?

On Tyros, I moved the highlight down to the "end" entry and then depressed Step Record.

Then, using the left hand, I keyed some chords. They were inserted at a time determined by the note value selected. I then pressed Exit and the chords were listed on the chord screen.

Regards,

Michael

Ron,

On 1:1:0000 enter "C"      on 2:1:0000 enter "F"  on 3:1:0000 enter "G" . Use the Bar button to change times.  On 2:1 and 3:1 push one of the A-D buttons then hit expand. Press the play button and you should get an idea how to step edit a style into a song. Also, click on the "filter" button and make sure it is set to ALL ON (everything will be listed now).

I use this 99.9% of my songs and if you need help, send me an e-mail (stellartrax@comcast.net) I'd be more than happy to help you out.
