Silent key on 2100
« on: April 21, 2009, 05:59:07 PM »
I just developed a silent key on my psr-2100.  Although I haven't disassembled the unit yet, I suspect that the problem is a failed rubber pad - seems to be a fairly common problem.  There's some discussion in the forums about this as it relates to other models - has anyone had this problem specifically with the 2100?  I want to order a part from Yamaha, but their website is fairly useless - diagrams are hard to read and descriptions of parts are not helpful.  I found this description in the forum relating to a K3000:   rubber touch pad, part # VU328400.  Is this the same part used in the 2100?  I'd like to have some idea what I'm asking for/ordering before I give Yamaha Service a call.
Thanks, Ron

hi all

I'm using a PSR-520 strictly as a midi controllor and have a key that is silent too!
When used thru my Cakewalk software it doesn't register at all and when using thru its built in speakers no sound at all from this key.....?

Is there an easy fix/solution?

Cheers
