PSR to Laptop connection
« on: July 08, 2008, 10:36:08 AM »
Hi gang - is it me or is the PSR manual written in double Dutch - I can rarely find what I want and when I do I don't really understand it!!??
Could one of you kind souls put me out of my misery and tell me in plain language whether I can easily connect my laptop to my PSR 9000v2.
If yes - what leads are required and where do I stick 'em (no rude aswers thanks!)

Remember . . . .never regret anything that makes you laugh!  :D

JimJams,

There are several ways to accomplish this.
One of the ways involves using the To-Host cable originally supplied by Yamaha.
Unfortunately that cable is hard to find now and requires a COM port on the PC.
Most PC's do not have COM ports these days.

The best way is to use a USB to MIDI cable like the one at the following link:

USB 2 MIDI Cable

You probably can find the USB 2 MIDI cable at a Guitar Center outlet if you live close to one.

I wasn't going to do anything today - so far, I'm on schedule, :)
