Would like to post MP3 tune
« on: April 03, 2008, 08:44:48 AM »
Hello
I recorded my first song using the S900 USB feature and was wondering if I can post it. The file size is 3.8meg
If it is not possible to post it on this forum how can this be done.

Thanks
John

You should be able to upload files by going to Additional Options (while you are editing your note).  There are lots of files being uploaded every day.  However, a previous user had trouble uploading an MP3 file and got a message saying

Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information.

He sent me the file and I tried uploading it -- got the same message.  I just tried that file again a few minutes ago and still got the message.  The max size for an attachment is 5MB.  The file is well below that limit. I've just sent a note to Lunarpages (where this web site is housed) to see if there are some other kind of server limitations we are running into.

Joe,
Thanks for continuing to follow up on my upload misadventure.
My new service is supposed to be operating at 1.5mbps but it took about 1 minute and 15 seconds on the attempted upload of my tune to the PSR forum.
All my attachments sent elsewhere load really fast.

Jay R,

I think Lunar pages is having some server problems as I have been seeing some really slow response times here lately.
When I post a message I have seen it take as long as 30 seconds to come back with the updated display.
This has only been happening on those forums using Lunar pages.
It is not constant and I was blaming my ISP, but have had every thing checked out and it is all okay on my end.
I hope they get it squared away soon.

In fact it just took 12 seconds for this post to display.
I wasn't going to do anything today - so far, I'm on schedule, :)

Bill,
Thanks for the info. I was beginning to wonder if my new ISP was haywire.

Jay R,

For sure many ISP will reject your upload if the receiving speed is too slow.
So in this case you don't really know if it is your end or the other or possibly a combination of the two.  ??? ???
Sure hope it gets better because this kind of defeats being on cable.  :'(

Well I just did this one using Firefox and it was very fast response. 1 second!  8)

My current browser is "Opera"
very light and faster than Firefox and Explorer.
If you don't know, I suggest that you try Opera.
You will get a surprise

Ron

I like very much an Opera feature named "new tab" .
I can load my 9 favorite pages for instant access . It's nice.
As home page I use " I google" with all links that I need to navigate .
