Buy a Genos .. and there you go  :)

Seriously, I expect that in due course someone will share the Genos styles, but it's a bit too soon to ask for that ...

Hi,

Why would anyone want them? What's the point of taking styles written for the Genos drums and voices and then loading them onto another instrument that can't possibly replicate the same quality.

I don't get it.

Regards,
Just don't mention Genos USB drive letter assignments :)

As Derek says Buy a Genos. We are paying a lot of money for these styles by buying the keyboards and I doubt some of them would work in other modles anyway.

I do not need a Genos right now to buy one, but I would like to try new styles on my PSR s970, so if someone is generous enough to provide them, that will be great!

Sure the styles will work.
Maybe some revoicing is required, but that is exciting, right?  ;)

I have looked at just a just 5 Genos styles in the country folder so far and was disappointed to see that Yamaha STILL only has the MAIN parts at only 4 measures long. Korg has some of them at 8 measure which allows for much better backup licks to be constructed.

I also hear the new drum kits being used which means those have to be replaced in order to be used in the older keyboards at this point. That is easy enough to do but to get the intros and endings to sound correct, that will be much harder to match out.  But then who really uses those canned intros much anyway. ;)

Hi.

I've tried out a few so far, and no problem to load into T4 so far...
Even if there is some edit to do here and there, it's quite a step up, at least from T4 to Genos, both sound quality/level.
Many do in fact sound great at T4, but need to edit some volume balance, others miss naturally enough the Genos onboard sounds and drums.
Some styles are very similiar to the T4, but they sure are reworked to the better. Something has happened, and I like the way the styles play as is here, so I can only imagine how it is when sit down by Genos......
I also like how the new styles are grouped.
Cheers & Happy Playing.  :)

Jørgen. Yes,I would have thought they would convert using your SSF2 to SFF1 for my T2.
I have converted many 3rd party styles but in the case of GENOS a lot of the style parts play out of tune.

Hi Graham

I have not studied the styles close yet.

Apparently Yamaha keeps changing / modifying the internal file and data formats making it harder and harder to write 3rd party software.

And - as usual - they do not publish the formats ... :(

It's gonna be a long, long winter to find out all this ...

No problem to load into the Tyros 3
Some editing has to be done on the voices and sometimes other drum samples are needed to sound correct but most are very usable !

As long as it is a midi information, then it will load and play (with some keyb-"age" limits :) )
