Sustain foot pedal problem
« on: October 19, 2017, 10:57:30 AM »
Hi everyone,

Today I got my brandnew PSR 770.
Before I had a Casio CTX 6000. I moved the sustain pedal to my Yamaha to foot pedal 1 and experienced something strange: the pedal worked in reverse.
When I press it down there is no sustain. When I release it it has a continuiys sustain.
Does anyone know what could be the matter and what to do to get it working the way it should?
Thanks in advance,

Rob

On the Controller page (press 'Direct' then press the pedal), there's an option to change the polarity. Try changing it from + to - (or the other way round) and see if that helps.

Itís under Function, which is one of the buttons in your keyboard.

Or, you follow Derekís instructions he included in his post, and press Durect Access then press the pedal.

Thanks Fred and Derek,

I got to the pedal properties and saw Pedal 1 witg a minus sign highlited, but did not know how to highlite the plus sign.
As you see I am really unaccustomed to this keyboard. Could you please tell me how to do this.
Thanks in advance,

Rob

Just press the button on the right hand side of the screen beside the +/- symbols and it should toggle between them.

Thanks Derek,

I will try that. I feel a little stupid, but somehow I will master this new system.
Anyway, I am very happy with the psr770. The sound engin is far superior to my old Casio.
Have a nice weekend.

Dont feel stupid; everyone has to learn. One of the really good things about this forum is that someone will always answer any question anybody has, if they can.
