Hello Patel!
Take good care of that old keyboard! The sounds were special in that time!
To record your songs to computer do this:
1. Download the free program Audacity.
2. Use an audio USB interface to connect your computer to the keyboard.
3. Record your music into Audacity.

I see you work with MIDI, so you may have more knowledge about these things then I. I also have an old keyboard, and intend to record some music from it. The demo songs in those old models were great, so record that as well :)

If you meant record MIDI to computer from an old keyboard, there are some gear for that as well, but here I am out of knowledge, as I only use Audacity :) Have fun :) Greetings from Trondheim, Norway.

patel,

Go out to Yamaha's website download for the DJX.  I think it was the DJ-X II I downloaded the internal and external patterns as MIDI song files.  I have created some arranger styles from them.  Another forum member (pj) has also converted some DJX-II patterns to PSR styles.

PS:  I like your attitude.  Never stop learning!

Play your patterns from the DJX and record them into any sequencer over MIDI.

Well then can you record them as MIDI on the DJX or Export them as MIDI files from the DJX?

On page 92 of the manual it says
Quote
IMPORTANT The MIDI functions cannot be used in the Song mode.
That means you will not be able to play back any recorded songs on the keyboard and transmit them to a computer via MIDI during the song playback. On the other hand, you should still be able to record the audio output during the song playback.

As far as exporting the user song recordings to a computer, page 96 of the manual says that you can use the BulkSend (Bulk Dump Send) function to
Quote
save important DJX data and settings to another device (such as a sequencer, computer, or MIDI data filer).
The saved settings are: User Performance Setup banks 1 - 4 and User Songs 1 - 3,
So you should be able to transmit your user song recordings to a computer, although it will be in the form of a bulk dump. I'm not sure what that means, but it might mean that you'll need to extract usable 8-bit bytes out of the dumped data, and then extract your user songs out of the extracted bytes.

The discussions on the following pages may--or may not-- be helpful to you:
https://www.midi.org/forum/279-yamaha-bull-dump-data-format
http://rnhart.net/articles/bulk-dump.htm
The second page-- which is actually referenced in the replies on the first page-- specifically applies to the Yamaha PSR-225, but if it doesn't directly apply to the DJX then hopefully you can find a way to adapt it somehow.
