Screen contrast on psr-e453
« on: September 17, 2017, 06:19:39 PM »
Hi.

From normal piano posture, the screen seems a little saturated at the characters, so you need looking this from a smaller angle to not having this problem.
Is it just mine or everyone's is like that? How do you call this, ghost characters?
Is there any settings to change the contrast of the screen for the psr-e453?

Ps: The screen characters seems very dim at the pictures, but from close they are not. The one picture is from the angle I am watching this when I play and the other from vertical view.

This is normal; at least, I have a PSR-E433, PSR-E443, and YPT-400 (PSR-E403), and all three exhibit the same sort of behavior-- the screen display looks fine when viewed from one angle, but if you aren't looking at it from that angle then the "lit-up" characters are not as dark and the unlit characters or dot matrices can be dimly seen. Unfortunately, there's no function or control for changing the screen constrast.

LCD contrast -- something else that would make a good addition to the PSR-E463, if that is the next model!

I don't know if it's the contrast per se that's the issue, because the screen is perfectly readable when viewed at a certain angle, so changing the contrast probably wouldn't help. But if the screen could be changed somehow so it's easier to read from a wider range of angles, that would be great.

Or if they had make the screen movable, like tyros series, that would solve this problem. After the guarantee expires, I will unscrew this to try fix it somehow and I would like to change the backlit to white.  :)
