More info needed on DSP values
« on: February 13, 2017, 03:50:20 PM »
Doug here with a PSR-S550.    Does Yamaha offer any information beyond the owner's manual on what the many DSP options mean?    Or which voices are best used with particular DSP selections?  Many :P of the explanations of DSP values are unfamiliar to me.

I have been experimenting with various voice/DSP combinations, but there are so many possibilities!   Would like to have guidance on the best combinations.  (I know that a particular default DSP value is assigned to each of the voices, but I would like to expand my repertoire).   Thanks !

That is a good question. Most of us just accept what Yamaha has assigned, or substitute with a DSP that we have observed worked with a sound that we liked.

I did find a site that gives some additional info, and especially regarding PSR's:

Let us know if you discover sources.
