How do I remove a click from this style?
« on: December 27, 2016, 04:00:39 PM »
I found a lovely style on this forum called  "The Holy City 80  S856" I would use it more, if I
could delete the click.

I've downloaded it also and will look at it later.  I see that Ian is posting here, as I type this, so you will more than likely receive an answer from him.

Click removed from all sections.   It was a Castanet at MIDI note #30 in the RHY2 channel.

The original version was in style format SFF1.

I actually removed the offending notes on my Tyros4 using the 'Rhythm Clear' function in 'Style Creator', so when I saved the modified style, it was automatically saved in format SFF-2 (SFF-GE).

Other posts from you that I have seen suggest that you have a PSR-S970 which will play both SFF1 and SFF2 formats, but just in case you have an older keyboard which can't play SFF2, I have included a version converted back to SFF1 using Jørgen Sørensen's 'Style Format 2 Converter' program for PC.

The SFF1 version is 'Holy City 80_1.S856.STY' and the SFF2 is 'Holy City 80_2'.S856.STY.

There are another couple of notes in the RHY1 channel of some sections which I find a bit un-musical.  They use the Agogo H and Agogo L sounds at notes 67 and 68 of the drum kit.   I have left them in, but if you don't like them you can simply mute the RHY1, channel since the only other sounds on it are very quiet so you are not likely to miss them!

Regards

Ian

Hi

My "Single Note Volume Changer" at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/singlenotevolume/index.htm will not remove anything just lower the volume at a single note / percussion instrument.

The range is +/- 50% . If you run the style file twice you will reduce volume to one 25 % - three times to 12.5 % - etc.

Jørgen

PS:
I could re-program to -100%... seems like a very small project...  ;)
