Yamaha PSR 9000 Pro Firmware
« on: October 23, 2016, 12:59:41 PM »
Trying, in vein, to find the 3.06 firmware updated for the PSR 9000 Pro.  The one listed on the Yamaha website is for the PSR 9000.  It consists of 4 files and a bin file.  The one for the PSR 9000 Pro consists of 5 files and a bin file.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for reading my post.

Hi lonelagranger,

what is V3.06 for the PSR-9000 is V2.06 for the 9000pro!

You can download this firmware here:

---> http://robbys-hp.de/RM_Frame.html

or directly from Yamaha:

---> http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?site=de.yamaha.com&language=de&category_id1=16277&category_id2=16084&category_id3=&product_id=1040757

Regards,
Chris

Version 3.06 was the last updated provided by Yamaha.  The link you referenced does not work for me.  My computer will not go to that page.

Hi lonelagranger,

the "PSR-9000pro" is named only "9000pro" in "Yamaha jargon".

And you can trust me in that point:

The "old" PSR-9000 had started mit V1.xx, and there were updates to V2.xx and finally V3.06.

The 9000pro even started with V1.xx, BUT the functionality was the same as V2.xx for PSR-9000.

Therefore, as I described above, V2.06 is the last and newest Version for 9000pro (with the same functionality as V3.06 for the "old" PSR-9000). :)

Regards,
Chris

P.S.
I changed the second link above (the is pointing directly to the GERMAN 9000pro download page (because there is no 9000pro page for the USA).

Overover, thank you so very, very, very much.  I used the second link you provided and it took me to a Yamaha site in Germany.  Any way the files I needed were indeed there.  Thank you so very much for your kind help.  I have been looking for two days.  You found the answer in 2 seconds.  Your my special friend today.

I am all updated.  As easy as pie thanks to Mr. Overover.  I have lurked on this site reading the post and learning a lot.  This is the first time I have had to ask for help.  I hope I will be able to be as helpful to someone as all of you have been to me today.

I am trying to upgrade my "old 9000 to Ver 3. I have followed the links offered here but "no cigar". All have been dead ends and rabbit chasing experiences for me. The PK club was useless and the Yamaha link only lead to an install manual telling what I need. I guess I just don't get it.. Is there anyone who can make this more clear for me. I would greatly appreciate it. Where is a link that will allow me to download the files necessary without "chasing rabbits". Thank you.

Orm

Hi Ormly,

I have just tried both the links in Chris' (overover) post above, and they both work for me!

For the 'robbys-hp.de' site you need to select the 9000pro from the list on the left of the screen and then on the page that opens, click the keyboard icon under where it says 'Update OS Version 2.06'

For the Yamaha link, you need to select the OS update from the list, and on the page that opens, scroll down to the bottom of the page and check the box under the 'Licence Conditions' ('Lizenzvereinbarung), next to where it says 'Ja, ich stimme zu' ('Yes, I agree'), bearing in mind that you have then agreed to the terms!

On checking this box the actual download box immediately underneath will activate, and if you click on it the download should begin.   Although this is from the Yamaha's German site, the download zip package includes a PDF and '.txt. file containing instructions in English on how to install the update on your keyboard.

Regards

Ian

I seem to remember having to have five clean floppy disks ready for this.

I formatted my discs before transferring files from usb.

My KB informed me "wrong disc" when I began to install them per instructions. I will try robbies download again. Perhaps I missed something. THank you Eileen.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my 9000 firmware need. I got it all [link files] sorted out and everything is up and running perfectly, including, as a side benefit, any and all problems I was having with recieving "octave transpose R1,2,3 and Left"  to my US1 Kb manuals. It's now all very flexible and exiting!

Sincerely,

Orm
