edit a sty style in cubase
« on: December 01, 2015, 08:26:56 AM »
Hello to you all,

i am new on the forum and looking to all the topics there is a lot to read...
i have used the search button on the forum but have not found the answer yet.

i have a tyros 3 and would like to make and also edit styles with in Cubase.

I can load a sty style in Cubase and Cubase does show everything very well. like the sounds, notes and markers.

After editing the midi notes and so on i have to save it again. but you can only save it as a midi (mid) file. How can i convert the mid file (which was a normal sty style before editing) to a sty style again??

Jan:

If you load a style in MixMaster (http://psrtutorial.com/MB/mixMaster.html ) and then select a GoTo menu item for a program that does not retain a style's CASM section, you can edit the midi portion in the program.

If you then save it to the default name MixMaster has assigned, it will return the edited file to MixMaster with the original Casm attached and you can save it as a style.

The location of GoTo menu items must be identified in MM's Option screen before the above procedure. See the manuals for details.

Michael

Hi

Or you can use Style Split and Splice software to handle the non-MIDI data in the style.

Check http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/sands/index.htm

MM and Split and Spice should both do the job.
