« on: January 22, 2013, 09:17:15 AM »
Hello,
I just bought a used PSR-2100. Can anyone point me to a link that explains step by step how to import new styles for the 2100 into my 2100. Thank You in advance

Gitano:

Over the years, all the instructions in the Lessons section of the web site (http://www.psrtutorial.com/lessons/index.html )have been updated for using the USB or hard drive external memories. But the instructions for loading a style or midi song from disk are the same as I recall:

Put the styles you want to load on a floppy and load it into the 2100.

On the forum, the styles might be identified by model or style type SFF1. Most all styles up to the Tyros 3 will load, but many use mega voices that the 2001 does not have, so pick PSR 9000, 710, 2000, etc. See: http://www.psrtutorial.com/sty/yamaha/psr-2100.html

Select the type of file by depressing the button on the screen next to the type of file (style, midi pad ) then use the next button adjacent to the screen top to tab to the floppy, and double click to select and load the style.

Hi Gitano!

In case you don't have the possibility to use floppy disks (you don't have a floppy drive on your computer) you can try to use the USB to device connection.
Unfortunately, I see the Yamaha USB driver for 2100 is quite old (USB-MIDI Driver Version 1.2.2 for Win (Me / Win98) - 2004) and there is no other software like Yamaha Musicsoft Downloader which is used on newer keyboards.

Good luck!

L.E. :  The software used is File Utillity http://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php?topic=17840.0
