MP3 Format backing tracks on my psr-S910
« on: December 25, 2012, 09:19:46 AM »
I downloaded some backing mp3 tracks from an international site for Bobby Bare's 'That's How I Got to Memphis', because I could not find a midi file to this anywhere.  They play fine on my computer, but when I load them to a flash drive and plug in to the s910 the files do not show up on the s910. if I plug the flash drive back into the computer, they play fine, and of course I am able to play any midi file without a problem on the s910. Can anybody tell me what IU am missing or doing wrong?

If, for some reason, I am never able to get this mp3 file to play on the S910, I sure would appreciate a midi for 'That's how I got to Memphis' if anybody has one.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

George

Probably stating the obvious. MP3 files won't show up in Song select, rather you will have to press the USB button.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. Yes I am trying to play them by pressing USB, and then I press Song. The midis show up, but not the Mp3..,

This is only a "Band-Aid" but try this.
Load the mp3 into Audacity, make sure it plays there.

Now Export as mp3 with name of "That's How I Got to Memphis2"
as to not overwrite the original.

Good Luck.

George,

Check page 75 of your owners manual - you do not press Song to play an MP3.

After pressing the USB button, you press button 8 to call up the MP3 or wave files.

I wasn't going to do anything today - so far, I'm on schedule, :)

Hey, thanks Bill, that is what I was missing; I was not going to select file after I went into USB. I was missing the pressing 8^.

Thanks, problem solved.

I found that the mp3 files have to be a certain format:
44100 khz  -  32 bit  - 192 Kbps (Kilo bytes per second) works fine for me.
I push USB, then Audio, select the song, then push USB Audio player, play.
I record my music using Adobe's Audition (formerly CoolEdit).
Have a great day!
