Psr-s900 Dead
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:15:46 PM »
Well, once again I have a problem with my Psr-s900. When I hit the power button, It does not power up.  If I leave it on for a while, I get a faint backlight from the screen but nothing works.  Prior to this happening,I got a message that read hisysdwn.C/114  8C222E80/0622155-005.  I have no servicer in my area here in Hawaii and the one 90 miles away is pretty bad.  Anyone else have this problem and what was done to correct it?

Check the power supply and circuit it's plugged into for starters.  Also go here and read these post from someone else with similar problem.

I Googled "hisysdown.c" and among a few other hits found the thread below in this forum.

It is about a PSR3000 and possibly corrupt styles that appeared to cause the error, so whether your PSR-S900 is doing the same thing probably only Yamaha knows for sure.

If you have a USB stick inserted in the keyboard, try removing it and powering up. Also remove any MIDI cables, foot switches or other accessories and try a power up.

Try a reset the keyboard by holding down the right most white key while turning on the keyboard. Hold the key down until the keyboard has finished the start up sequence.

Thanks for your reply's folks. Unfortunately, nothing works.  I have replaced three displays and three circuit boards in the past 2 1/2 years. Guess it is time to move on to something better!  Thanks for your help!

Just a thought.  With so many boards replaced, wonder if you have bad mains supply. Once i had electironics that frequently have board failures, and someone suggested that I use a surge protector. So far it seems to work.

Usually problems with hisysdwn.C/114 suggest ROM IC failure. On some cases it could be RAM but rare.
See if you can get something by connecting to external display, and if u could, then run factory menu, check for each ic, if NC is given on any querry, that part is defective.
